Coimbatore: Following the demise of Ex-MP Ramanathan, here on Friday, M K Stalin and other senior leaders of the party including T R Balu and A Raja paid their last respects to the mortal remains of the deceased leader at his residence in Chetty Veedhi, near Raja Street here.
Stalin consoled family members and eulogized that his contributions will be etched in the history of the party forever. "From MISA to Hindi imposition, Ex-MP Ramanathan played a key role in the protests. His role in the party was truly irreplaceable," expressed Stalin, DMK President.
Addressing the media, Stalin recalled the contributions of late Ex-MP Ramanathan during his earlier years.
"He has been a very active member of the DMK party, since its inception. He zealously took part in many protests like MISA and the Hindi imposition protests. During his tenure as MP, he fulfilled the needs of the people of his constituency. He was a true people's representative," said Stalin.
Stalin also extolled that Ramanathan was one of the best speakers in the DMK. "He could speak for 5-6 hours, uninterrupted. He will be missed by his family and the party. On behalf of the DMK, I pay my deepest condolences to his family members," he noted.
DMK’s leading cadres, including Secretary T R Baalu, Assistant General Secretary Subbulakshmi Jagadeesan, Former Central Minister A Raja, former Ministers Ponmudi, Saminathan and Pongalur Palanisami also paid homage to the departed leader.
